We Love Camps!
The people behind Youth Camp Consulting are passionate about the need for summer (and other) camps to help develop today’s youth. In order to keep camps around for future youth, they need to be successful. With increased competition for campers, donations, and staff, it is becoming more and more difficult. Youth Camp Consulting is here to help you make your camp successful!
Our Founder
Our founder attended Cub Scout Day Camp, Boy Scout Resident Camp, and Church Camp as a youth. One of his first jobs was at a Cub Scout Resident Camp at the Woodman Center for Camping and Outdoor Education (now closed), and he went on to be the Service Manager at Ed Bryant Scout Reservation (EBSR) for three years. After a deployment to Afghanistan with the Army National Guard, he returned to EBSR for one more year, where he split his time as Trading Post Manager and Rifle Merit Badge Instructor. After a second deployment this time to Iraq, he joined the staff at Camp Indian Trails as the Business Manager. Unfortunately he had to give up his time serving on summer camp staff when he started his career in Child Welfare.
In addition to his time spent on camp staff, he has been involved behind the scenes with the organizations that own camps. He has served on the Camping Committee of the Glacier’s Edge Council, BSA, and was on the Executive Board of the Four Lakes Council, BSA.
Advisers
All of our advisers have spent time working at, or running camps. They have practical experience, big ideas, and experience implementing programs and change in camp environments.
How Can We Help Your Camp?
Youth Camp Consulting wants to help all camps. Whether your camp is successful, stagnant, in a decline, or struggling we can help you increase your number of campers, raise additional funds, engage alumni, or develop your camp. If you have years of experience, we will challenge longstanding beliefs, and share different things camps are doing to be successful. If you are new to the camp world, we can give you the knowledge to make it look like you have years of experience.
How do we do it?
We share a lot of information and resources for free on our social media channels and blog. This is a great place to start!
If you are looking for advanced information, or what a complete package as to how to implement one of our examples, we are working on courses that will work you through various areas of promoting and financing your camp.
What if you need more?
We recognize that some camps need more than what we offer in our free content and online courses. In order to help meet this need, we developed our consulting program.
